Food biotechnology is considered as the oldest and the most important branch of the biotechnology. Therefore, a core activity of this institute is focused on Food Biotechnology. Food Biotechnology is involved in the production of a wide range of products and substances including the production of fermented products, the production of valuable compounds used in the industry, functional foods and ingredients, such as probiotics. Naturally, this widespread application creates a wide range of research tasks. According to the scientific and practical importance, two fundamental field "microalgae biotechnology" and "biotechnology and lactic acid bacteria" is chosen as a research priority sectors selected for our institute
